"Winter Rain"
Lying alone tonight, holding you only in my dreams.
The truth is harder than it seems.
All my love I give in vain.
My broken heart bleeds cold as winter rain.
Dawn creeps in, the sun hiding in a cloudy sky.
Another day to live in this lie.
Unable to find escape from the pain.
You are my prison,bars of icy winter rain.
My pillow damp with desperate tears.
Winds of change blow gently in my ears.
I don't know how much longer I can stand this game.
Reality cuts me like whipping sheets of winter rain.
Your footsteps heavy on the bedroom floor.
Your face glares at me through the open door.
The suit case says it all, you don't have to explain.
You walk away,leaving me in bone chilling winter rain.
My breath leaves me, my body consumed by grief.
Deafened by pounding in my head, I pray to God for relief.
I scream for you, calling and calling your name.
My only answer, never ending drops of winter rain.
The sun refuses to shine, my life in a state of decay.
My eyes are opened when I hear the voice of the Lord say,
"I am beside you my child, you ask for me and I came."
"Come with me and I will walk with you out of this winter rain."
